Boston has a world of delectable dining options: Italian, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Cambodian, French, Brazilian, Afghan, Cajun, Chilean, Columbian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Portuguese, Greek, Pacific Rim, Moroccan and Malaysian - just to name a few. Two notable areas abounding with their own culture and specializing in their own cuisine are Chinatown and the North End, also known as Little Italy.
North End - Little Italy
Recognize the beauty of a community independent from its surroundings, as you step into a rich realm of Italian-American culture. Walk through winding cobblestone streets aligned with 19th century tenement housing. Meander down Hanover Street and choose from a selection of scrumptious Italian bistros, olive shops and bakeries. Admire the atmosphere and décor that provides a vintage sense of Italia on each sign and building.
Chinatown
If you've never been to China, then here's your chance. The restaurants, shops and cultural atmosphere in Chinatown reveal an intriguing world that whisks you away to another continent. Travelers and locals venture here for authentic Asian cuisine. Quite popular are the fresh seafood dishes (seen swimming in tanks prior to your order.) Also, if you're looking for late night eats, most of Boston shuts down rather early, yet the restaurants here stay open 'til the wee hours.
