Boston has a versatile nightlife with plenty of options to choose from whether you're looking for a dance club, sports bar, lounge, night club, karaoke, dive bar or laidback pub. Lansdowne Street has a gathering of clubs and sports bars. Brighton/Allston caters to the college and young professional crowd. Faneuil Hall attracts people of all ages. While Downtown portrays more of a posh - why aren’t you wearing black pants - feel.
Lansdowne Street
Located just outside Fenway, Lansdowne fills up with Sox fans and boozehounds. This is where it's at during baseball season. Boston Beer Works draws a solid crowd of peeps having a couple in-house brews before the game. Just nearby is the Cask 'n Flagon. If you don't have tickets to the game, this is the perfect place to go. If you're in the mood for a piano bar, Jake Ivory's will have you singing to the classics at the top of your lungs. Get there early if you can, because the line can reach the outer tip of Nebraska.
Boylston Street
A block from where Boylston meets Mass Ave, right across from the fire station you'll find Bukowski's - named after the eclectic poet and boozehound Charles Bukowski. This place is superb if you're a beer connoisseur. They have everything from smoked beers to rare imported lagers. Even better, they pour your beer into a glass - varying in style and size - that best accentuates its flavor. A few blocks down on Boylston is Whiskey's. The scene generates a bounty of 20-somethings just getting hammered and having a good 'ole time. Although, the main attraction just may be the mechanical "lobster grab".
Faneuil Hall - Quincy Market
In the evening, Faneuil Hall has a variety of options. Ned Devines, a sizeable venue, usually has a popular band playing, alongside a lounge room. Clarke's, is probably the chillest place throughout all of Faneuil, if a pub-type place is your scene. Slightly outside of Faneuil is the oldest tavern in the U.S. - the Bell in Hand - where local bands take stage from time to time. If the bars aren't your thing, you could always head to the Comedy Connection and chuckle the night away.
