The long awaited spring has arrived, and the Sox are ready to take the field. And when they start reeling in the wins, the months that follow are truly exciting. Even if you're not a baseball fan, the cultural experience is like no other.
Fenway Travel Tip
Try to order tickets in advance for cheaper, but if you don't, season ticket holders are always selling tickets outside the park. On your way to Fenway, the best way to get to there is by "T", but don't be fooled by the Fenway stop - get off at Kenmore Square.
86 Year Victory
In the 2004 AL Championship Series the Sox were down 3 games to 0, and once again, defeat seemed imminent. Miraculously, after a few clutch homers and a relentless determination to win, they rallied to win four games in a row to capture the series. In fact, the Sox became the first team in baseball history to come back and win in the playoffs from a 3-0 deficit. Even better, it was against their most despised enemy - the Yanks. The journey seemed like an endless struggle, yet the victory couldn't have been scripted as remarkably as it occurred. They would then sweep the Cardinals in four games, and win the World Series, wiping away 86 years of heartbreak, angst and the "curse of the Bambino".
